Good morning. It is Friday, so those of you who live for the weekend, you made it! But as always, I challenge you to live for every single day because there are so few, there is no time to waste! You have so many chances to be God’s instrument of change in this world! So here are some things to research for chapter 2 of the book of Revelation. Who are the seven churches and do they still exist today? Where were the seven churches? What were their transgressions against God? Will we be left here to face persecution in the end times or will we get the Hollywood version and be raptured away before persecution?     I am not here to make all this easy for you, you need to make the investment of your time in God’s word if you expect an ROI of any kind! Your work here is not to earn salvation, but it can be to further your understanding of what is needed to begin a saving relationship with Jesus, the one that is the Christ. If you are new here, Chri...

Revelation Chapter 1 Hold on to your hats folks!

Well, here we are at the edge of Revelation where many a Christian fall off a cliff or get lost and where many a Christian lose brothers or sisters in Christ over senseless arguments over the meaning of one part or another! It is not all revealed to us now, just trust in God and know that you can disagree on one part or another, but you are both still going to heaven if you believe in Christ as the Messiah and that He was raised from the dead! So just agree to disagree and move on in love!     So new books always spark me to ask you, who wrote it, when and where was it written, and who was it written to! Now all these things can be found in the tools bar in the written portion of blueletterbible.org  , but another good source is gotquestions.org/Book-of-Revelatin.html . I am so thankful to get to use and share both these amazing tools to further our study of God and His word! Both these sources for learning are free to use with no infor...
Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well and in good spirits! I was able to get the inside farmhouse trim on the last two new windows in my little corner office yesterday before heading out to our community group with my darling bride Madeline last night. Today I will finish all three windows with caulking and some tiny molding and paint. I am not the best at pacing myself as my mind still thinks my body is twenty-five, but my body keeps my mind honest these days! If the part arrives, I am also going to install a clock spring on a truck I just sold. I sure look forward to Elon’s crew getting to the post office, as this part is currently late and tracking shows it for two days now making the 1 hour trip from Fort Worth to Granbury! Life is full of such delays, but this lady needs her new truck and I need the money LOL! I will probably buy the part locally today and send the other one back if it ever arrives!     If you are alr...

02252025 3rd John 1

Good morning, I hope your Monday was fantastic or at least bearable, I got to install the first window trim in my little corner office overlooking The Little Hundred Acre Wood and today I will do the second window. These windows were replaced in the summer but I am just now getting to the interior part of the project. This was to have been a winter project but we have spring temperatures this week. Today, it will get up to 76 degrees! I love this weather, it is my sweet spot for these old bones and physical work! These windows are getting the farmhouse trim that is popular around these parts, but what matters to me is Madeline loves it! I still have some sheetrock, paint, and flooring to finish this room, so it will take a few weeks to finish between work for others, a Seminary paper, and other ministry work. This lifestyle brings us so much joy and contentment!     I must admit that I do not look forward to where we are in the Daily Bible Ch...

2nd John 1 Who is "The Choosen or elect lady"

Good morning friends and future friends, I have been up for hours now as sometimes happens as I hear God calling me to prayer in the wee hours of the morning. Today it was around three-thirty and after a long time in prayers about God’s calling on this life, I then started my daily prayer list of marriages and individuals I pray for daily. These are not people I am judging in some way but people I love who are in one type of crisis or another. Sometimes this list changes and sometimes it is the same for years. That is because I know all things are in His timing not my own, the years are long for me, but are like moments to God!     So after an extended prayer time, what does God have for me today as I pre-read 2nd John 1 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge? He sends me deeper into a study of a mystery of who is the “chosen lady” (some texts have “elect lady”) in 2 John 1. I have a theory but it is not supported by my research of true Biblical s...
Good morning do you ever ponder on the life of complete strangers? I find myself pondering about the great loss I still feel today from the loss of Anthony Bourdain stolen from us by the lies of satan more than six years ago now! So why would I bring up a suicide from more than six years ago? Because I loved the character this man portrayed as he traveled the world making films for all of us. His spirit of exploration and his spirit of accepting people was such a treasure to me. Years ago I struggled with depression and more than a few times heard the lies of satan myself, as he whispered in my ear “Maybe I should just stop the madness” through such an act as Anthony’s! I never feel such feelings today, God has given me a new life in Christ and in that, I have found real meaning to this life! I no longer spend my days lusting after fame, wealth, or power, but I still have a restless spirit of wanting to travel as Anthony did! Now I live to show others this contentment...

1st John chapter 5

Good morning to all of you, and if this is your Sabbath I pray it is a happy fulfilling, and restful day for you and your family! I had a full day yesterday and slept hard last night, but I did wake to a loud storm in the night but was just barely awake enough to remember it. We are having a pretty dry winter at this point so we welcome the rain. It would seem God is really blessing us in this season as Madeline finishes Re/Generation and I continue into the home stretch of Seminary. We are growing in some struggles but those are blessings too!     We are in 1st John 5 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, it has a bit more depth than some of these chapters. I found myself wondering about verse 5:9, is this a reference to the several accounts of God testifying about Jesus at John’s Baptism of Jesus,(Matt 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, Jhn 1:32) or is it the references where God foretells for us all through the Old Testament of Jesus coming as the M...
