1st John chapter 5

    Good morning to all of you, and if this is your Sabbath I pray it is a happy fulfilling, and restful day for you and your family! I had a full day yesterday and slept hard last night, but I did wake to a loud storm in the night but was just barely awake enough to remember it. We are having a pretty dry winter at this point so we welcome the rain. It would seem God is really blessing us in this season as Madeline finishes Re/Generation and I continue into the home stretch of Seminary. We are growing in some struggles but those are blessings too! 

   We are in 1st John 5 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, it has a bit more depth than some of these chapters. I found myself wondering about verse 5:9, is this a reference to the several accounts of God testifying about Jesus at John’s Baptism of Jesus,(Matt 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, Jhn 1:32) or is it the references where God foretells for us all through the Old Testament of Jesus coming as the Messiah (too many to list here)? And if verse twelve doesn’t stir you to pray for the lost you might be missing the point of our purpose after salvation!    Good morning, I will keep my ramblings very short this morning because we are doing two chapters for Todfay's Daily Bible Challenge. We are listening to chapters 9 and 10 of Leviticus. Chapter ten has something new for you to help break the difficult monotony of Leviticus! When the audiobook finishes chapter nine, just wait three seconds, and chapter ten will start on its own.    God was very clear in His instructions, and Moses and Aaron presented the details very clearly. God’s wrath was stirred when things were not followed correctly! Two sons of Aaron were made examples of by God to establish just how serious He was about how to run the tabernacle and the rituals of sacrifice.       Good Friday morning to all of you! We have a busy day today with behind-the-scenes work for God and His people. This is the kind of thing most people don’t even think of, yet it is part of making all the pieces fit together in a church. There are so many people reaching out in need every week around the world, but behind the scenes, someone is vetting the recipients, and then after that, others are serving them with hearts full of hope and love! You may be asking, “What is this vetting”? Well, to be good stewards of God’s resources, someone needs to make sure these are not con artists going from church to church and other organizations every month, taking advantage and living high off the generosity of others and stealing those resources from the truly needy. But after the vetting, there is only love, support, and opportunities to grow and find a pathway to break the chains of poverty. Exodus 16 God's Provision, Manna

 God's Provision, Manna Good morning from the little corner office overlooking the rainy and thoroughly soaked, Little Hundred Acre Wood. There are still flashes of extreme lightning in the distance. I have always loved this artwork, but it seems to have passed by and is on its way east. This provision of rain will be nourishing our grape orchard, and it’s just in time to save the young grapes, our largest crop ever after planting five years ago now. These are all table grapes, and our weather is not ideal for growing these. Maybe this year will be our first real abundance of grapes! We are quite entrenched in The Little Hundred Acre Wood now, this will be the longest we have lived in one house, seven years has always marked big changes in our lives. Who knows what God will bring this time, or if He has plans for us to stay planted here for the rest of our days.
