1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!
Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.
The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing. I have to get another five-gallon pail of paint, a case of caulk, and the trim paint this weekend, and lots of protective covering material for the deck and stone work.
The new stonework on the front of the house will probably start in the spring. Finally, my bride will receive what I promised her eight years ago when we moved to the Granbury area, which was to completely renovate this old house. Yes, there is still more work inside, but we have chosen to delay that a bit longer until more of our medical junk is over with this winter. Well, I do tend to ramble here, but I have been told that some of our readers want to hear all about our progress on this project and others.
Let’s get to the reason God has me here at 4:30 in the morning, The Daily Bible Challenge! We are in chapter 4 of 1st Kings this morning. We read of Solomon starting to assemble his cabinet, so to speak, but as a King, he doesn’t need to wait on any approvals from a congress! We also hear of how he married off some of his daughters. He was a prolific writer, as he is said to have written some three thousand Proverbs and over a thousand songs. So, in effect, he was passing on God’s wisdom to his people; that is a fine choice to do with God’s gifts. The more we give them away, the more of them He will give to us!
