02252025 3rd John 1

Good morning, I hope your Monday was fantastic or at least bearable, I got to install the first window trim in my little corner office overlooking The Little Hundred Acre Wood and today I will do the second window. These windows were replaced in the summer but I am just now getting to the interior part of the project. This was to have been a winter project but we have spring temperatures this week. Today, it will get up to 76 degrees! I love this weather, it is my sweet spot for these old bones and physical work! These windows are getting the farmhouse trim that is popular around these parts, but what matters to me is Madeline loves it! I still have some sheetrock, paint, and flooring to finish this room, so it will take a few weeks to finish between work for others, a Seminary paper, and other ministry work. This lifestyle brings us so much joy and contentment!

I must admit that I do not look forward to where we are in the Daily Bible Challenge! Soon we will be finished with the New Testament and we will be back to the long journey through the Old Testament. There have been many times when “I” wanted to change this to just a New Testament Bible Challenge. But you see I am not in charge of this ministry, God is! I promise you I will pray unceasingly for God to lead us to just the New Testament, but He didn’t start it that way and I don’t think it will ever change. I love the pace and Good News from the New Testament, but I also love the Old Testament! I love searching for the hundreds of references to the coming Savior and how we can prove how Jesus fulfilled all those prophecies! So what do I dread about it? It is so long, so many books, so much detail, so many authors! And in that, my friends is the real reason why this blog is called The Daily Bible “CHALLENGE”!

Do you have what it takes to stop listening to gossip about God and start listening to God about God? If so you are arriving at a great time, the time just before the storm and hard work. The New Testament is the honey, flowers, and steak to feast on, but you are the strong ones who get to start with the farming, plowing, and ranching for about a year to prepare for that meal in your heart! Will you come join us on this exciting but tough journey?

Well, I am getting ahead of myself a bit, first, we have the last book of 3rd John, then Jude and Revelation in the New Testament, and those can take a few weeks to dig into before the Old Testament starts! If you can really finish this challenge you will become one of the statistically few who have read the whole Bible cover to cover, yes many people who spew talk about God, heaven, and hell have never even read the Bible, so they are really just gossiping! God’s word will have an ROI wherever it is heard or read, but for some, it is a long-term investment and for others, it will produce a whole new life in moments, like for the Apostle Paul! Click the link below and start your personal journey with God through His word! As always we welcome and encourage your questions and comments through PM/DM.

   Talk with you soon!
