2nd Chronicles 14




  I hope your week is going well. Ours, here at The Little Hundred Acre Wood, is going quite well! Madeline has a paper due this week for her current class. I get the privilege of reviewing/editing it for her after I finish writing to you this morning. Yes, it is a privilege; this is a very personal journey she is on right now! We were out late (for us anyway) last night, and I am a bit sluggish this morning. I just spent thirty minutes researching the territories mentioned in our chapter for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge. Gerar is only mentioned twice in the whole Bible, so I wanted a clear mental image of where this battle was and where the men from Judah plundered the cities of the invaders. They actually chased them all the way to their home and plundered it, not at all what the rival invaders planned for their incursion into Judah! Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
