1st Chronicles 25 Dig deeper when you are puzzled, please don't just gloss over something!
Good Sunday to you, I hope this time change doesn’t throw you off today! I set most of the clocks last night before bed, but I have one analog clock left to set. Welcome to the Daily Bible Challenge. We are in 1st Chronicles 25 today. Please join us on this journey!
It is easy to get mixed up in the Bible, not because of poor skills in interpreting from one language to another, but often because of the limitations of the English language, for one! So many languages around the world have many words for slightly different versions of the same thing; the German language is famous for this and is often the brunt of jokes about a sentence being five words in English and fifteen in German! Sometimes Hebrew can be similar to this, maybe not all the words in the same sentence, just many words that have close to the same meaning. Today, we have the word “prophecy” in relation to worship music. It does not mean future-telling in this context, but it does mean musicians engaging in divinely inspired praise. This, according to many commentaries, Biblehub for one. This confusion all stems from the Hebrew word “naba” a word that has no direct English translation, but would require a whole English sentence to explain.
So, I invite you to join us on this journey of reading the whole Bible cover to cover in context. We meet here daily (yes, 365 days) and listen to one or two chapters and then dig a little deeper into the application or puzzling meanings along the way. Click the link below, and a pop-up audiobook will read it to you, no forms to fill out or any questions asked. Audiobook provided by the good folks at BLB.ORG!
