1st Chronicles 28


  Good morning, I am finally up early again. I guess the time change threw me for a loop the last few days. We had quite a storm blow through the Little Hundred Acre Wood last night, but not nearly the destruction of many towns up north. I got a lot done on the truck yesterday before the rains set in, but I hope to get back to it today. If it is not raining all day, I hope to pull the transmission and begin the repairs there, as the engine checked out completely. Well, we are here for The Daily Bible Challenge, not Austin’s garage and weather talk, let’s get to it!

  We are in 1st Chronicles 28, and King David gives quite a speech in his old age. First, he gathered all the leaders and then told them how God gave him the total plans for the temple, but withheld the privilege of building it from him, but gave it to his son Solomon! David admitted God denied him this privilege because he had shed much blood in war. Not that that wasn’tr what David was commanded to do, but that doing so made him the wrong man for this sacred task. In no way was God dishonoring David because of his military service. After all, God sent David to do that work. It must have been hard for David to hear that, as he loved God very much and seemed to love building projects! Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
