2nd Kings 23



  Good Thursday morning from the little corner office overlooking The Little Hundred Acre Wood! I just love the account of King Josiah in the last few chapters of 2nd Kings, but alas, today we are in chapter 23 and are reading/listening to the account of Josiah’s death. His life’s story/historical account is one that I didn’t want to hear end! He epitomizes what it looks like to be on fire for the Lord. In fact, I would venture to say that this is what it looks like to allow God to be the Lord of your life! He found God’s word and started leading all his people to follow Him, instead of all the evil ways they had been following! Please don’t overlook the references to child sacrifice by fire again mentioned in today’s chapter. These were really evil people, as we are if we don’t cling to God’s moral compass; He left us the instruction book for a life worth living! Click the link below to hear it for yourself. Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
