2nd Kings 14

Good Tuesday morning, my darling bride and I got a lot done yesterday on the cleanup of the parking area, only to drive to the dump with a trailer load of debris, to find out it was closed on Mondays! But we enjoyed our time together nonetheless and returned home for a few more small chores. Today is a little less hectic, but I feel blessed to have some customer work on the schedule.

Are you new here? Well, the coffee is hot, so let’s get to The Daily Bible Challenge, where we read the whole Bible cover to cover, in context. We do not study deeply, although we try to challenge you to do that on your own. I try to tell you just enough to pique your interest to read/listen for yourself. Clicking the link below will start a pop-up audiobook of the Bible in modern American English, translated from the original Greek and Hebrew texts. You can also go to BLB.ORG and look up the text to read along, choose the NASB 95 version to match the audiobook.

Today, we read/listen to one of King David’s many sons who became King Amaziah. He seems to have had a big ego, and it got the best of him and his people. It is important to remember this is a civil war, and the promised land, Israel, was split into a North and South, and there are many battles in both regions. These territorial skirmishes are in almost every chapter of 2nd Kings. They are also the prophesied will of God, after so many of the kings were adulterous toward God, worshiping false gods along the way. Some even allowed (human) child sacrifice to false gods! Click the link below to join the Challenge! Then come back tomorrow and start your habit of time in God’s word.

We also hope you will spend some time in prayer to begin your personal quiet time with God Himself. Through this quiet time, we hope you will ask God to reveal Himself to you personally.

We welcome your questions and comments via PM/DM.

  Talk with you soon!
