2nd Kings 12
In modern-day times, we have a strange political process; it seems the more you can divide the people, the more likely you get the chance to be in charge. In Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, we read/listen to an account of an even more tumultuous time than today. A time when you are simply conspired against and then murdered so you can appoint someone else king. Joash seems to have got most things right in all his days as king, but he did leave those high places standing, I guess, out of fear of the people. But you see, the high places were places of worship and sacrifice of human children to false Gods, such as Molech, Ashera, Baal, and others. Would his life have been spared if he also removed the high places? I guess we will never know.
You see, if you just read through the Bible quickly, you will miss such details. I challenge you to dig a little deeper, one chapter at a time, which leaves you plenty of time to go to gotquestions.org or the tools tab on BLB.ORG to dig a little deeper! When you dig a little deeper, the pages will come to life for you, and you will begin to reap the rewards of a deeper relationship with God, the maker of the universe! We also hope you will begin to carve out some time for prayer before you listen/read each day! Remember, your questions and comments are always welcome via PM/DM.
Talk with you soon!
