1st Chronicles 6 Everyone had pastureland!
Good Friday morning! I am hoping to take my darling bride to a little coffee shop in a town that is about 35 miles away this morning. She had a tough class last night, so maybe we will do that tomorrow if she needs to sleep late this morning. Sometimes we just like to get away for a short road trip to try new things. I finished stripping any and all parts I might need from my parts truck yesterday, so hopefully the roller shell will sell soon! We have been having such great weather, I am getting tempted to finish the interior on Eeyore, my 43-year-old truck. I still can’t believe I have been driving a 43-year-old truck as a daily driver for over a year now without incident! I guess my initial mechanical rebuild was done well! What a blessing it has been to know that no modern inferior sensor will fail and leave me stranded! Well, there I go again, rambling like the old man I am becoming!
Let’s get to Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, and it is named well this morning. The takeaway for me in 1st Chronicles 6 is that every priestly clan mentioned had a pastureland. Why? Well, because they needed to raise lamb, goats, and cows for meat and provisions. The other point is just how important heritage was to these people; it is so culturally different from modern-day America! It is important to remember these differences as we try to dig in and gain a better understanding of the writers' context and perspective. Click the link below to listen for yourself!
