1st Chronicles 13 & 14

 

                                  Well, that scale is off a bit on the size of the Ark...


  Good Thursday morning, we have a full day planned, but heading in different directions. My darling bride will be going to H.E.B. for our groceries, and I will be doing some Help Ministry things with a client, before headingout for a small plumbing job. I like having busy days, and I have several ahead! This early spring weather sure makes it nice too! I hope you have great plans ahead!

  Well, there I go again rambling and even made it to the weather…LOL. Let’s get to our two short chapters of 1st Chronicles for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge. You will be happy to know that there are very few names listed in chapters 13 &14; it is more of a narrative of some events, including someone getting struck down by God and King David becoming very angry with God over it! There is also a family that is very blessed by keeping the Ark at their house for a time.

  Have you ever become angry at God? After the death of my maternal grandfather, my grandmother became so angry with Him that for the rest of her life she said there was no God! Those are very dangerous words indeed! But the funny part was that if someone did something wrong, she would proclaim they were going straight to hell! It seems a little ironic to proclaim there was no God while believing in hell! What are your thoughts? We welcome them via PM/DM. Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
