1st Chronicles 1
Good Sunday morning. If this is the day you celebrate your Sabbath, happy Sabbath to you. I hope your Valentine's Day was romantic and joyful! We had a great stormy day for our Sabbath yesterday, and we sure needed all the rain we got, but we are still way behind on rain at this point. The Little Hundred Acre Wood will spring to life now that it is so warm and less dry!
Speaking of dry, we are in 1st Chronicles 1 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge. When we get to this point of our reading, I usually try to write a little more about Jesus and the New Life He has given me, well… because this is one of the most challenging parts of the Bible to continue the Challenge in! It is a dry series of genealogies (mostly of Priestly people). There are about five men you will recognize in all these names, standing out as central characters for the main story God is presenting in the New and Old Testaments.
I do have one little bit of trivia for you here, and that is, why do you think a few women/girls made it into this long list of men? There were a handful of women here, maybe five at the most, out of many, many men. There is no real right or wrong answer to this question. But it is interesting to research and ponder what could have made them be mentioned! And in no way am I implying they shouldn’t be there, just curious. Click the link below and listen for yourself!
