1st Kings 6 What an amazing structure that 1st temple must have been!

I hope you are pondering a place of worship this morning, unless, of course, you already have a church home! It is the first Sunday for worship in the new year for us. Our church closes this one Sunday after Christmas for the whole staff to spend the time with their families. I know I just can’t wait to see everyone and spend some time in worship and fellowship with our church family. So if you are new to all this, it may seem weird that I look forward to church, but it is a place where we feel like we belong to something. No, it is not an exclusive club, shunning anyone new. In fact, our larger focus is on new guests, making sure we remove that awkwardness as quickly as possible! Just about everyone gets that feeling when trying something new!

Our goal is that you experience God’s love on your first and every visit to any of our campuses! Why you ask: Because we want you to feel like family and come back every week, because belonging to a family symbolizes what we get from God when He adopts us as His children when we accept His gift of Salvation. Please don't think you have to get your life straight before coming to church; we, as God does, will start loving you right where you are! But this is not about you joining our church; this is about you finding a church family right where you live. If you are struggling to find that, please contact us, and we will help you look!

Well, we are here for The Daily Bible Challenge and need to get to it! We are in 1st Kings 6. In this chapter, we will hear all about the details of the Temple (God’s house) that Solomon got to build. It took some eleven years to finish with hundreds of thousands of workers. That makes me feel a little better about our remodel taking eight years with just me and a dozen or so workers.

Well, to be fair, we did have some real interruptions along the way, including Madeline’s cancer journey. Back to the chapter, I sent all the details to Grok for this image of what the inside might have looked like. There is a lot of gold-leaf in this place, which should help reflect the light from those candles. Click the link below to listen for yourself! See if you can put all these details into a mental picture of what it must have looked like.

  Talk with you soon!
