1st Kings 18 BIG Miracles and Lordship Questions
Good Friday morning, what an exciting time we live in! Every day is filled with news stories more surprising than the last! For some, it breeds fear deep in their hearts, but for us as Christians, we should see it as a sign of the times and not be fearful but rejoice that the Lord Jesus is returning soon! Do I know the exact time? No, of course not, as the scriptures say, no man will know! Do I have fear, only that I might get fooled or fail my mission in some way? But I trust in the Lord to set me on the right path at that time!
Do you have confidence in the Lord? Have you asked Him to save you, yet have not yet invited Him to be your Lord? Well, if that is you, it is a simple request with the hardest path you will have ever taken! Yes, His yoke is light, but your heart is heavy with selfish ambition, preventing this new life.
So here is the key: it is relinquishing control of every area of your life, and submitting to Him as Lord. I believe this is the very reason the pathway is described as narrow into heaven (Matthew 7:14). We have this great pride in our hearts that is blocking our path to His Lordship. For most, we have accepted satan’s lies and do not even recognize our own pride standing right in front of us!
This morning, I invite you to ask God with your whole heart to be your Lord and your Savior. Start praying little silent prayers over everything, and when you don’t get a clear answer, dig into the Bible and find out what God says about such decisions! Now, if you are new to all this, I am not suggesting you pray over what to order from the menu at your chosen restaurant. But I am saying to ask, “God, is this the Job you intend me to stay in”? God, who am I to marry, or am I to marry? God, who should I pray for? What should I read, what movies should I not watch… You get the idea, turn the direction in life over to your master and see what a fantastic life He has waiting for you!
We read about how Elijah did just that in our chapter for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, 1st Kings 18. We will read about one of the most amazing ways God has ever revealed Himself to his rebellious people. How would you react if you witnessed this happening right in front of you? Well, I think in a way we are in a time when God is about to reveal Himself in even a more astounding way! Click the link below to hear how Elijah allowed God to be his Lord!
