2nd Samuel 23 Easy For You to Say! King David's Last Song

Good Sunday morning! We are starting our travels back to Texas this morning. What a great trip it has been. Our son and DIL started their trip back to Houston at four this morning. We will start ours at seven, as we are much farther north in Texas than they are.

I have enjoyed this time away, but I can’t wait to get back to my computer to write these letters! This laptop is just about worthless—everything is hurry up and wait—but it is not used very often, so it is hard to justify replacing it! Although we have enjoyed spending so much time with our grand dog, we also look forward to seeing our own dogs and cats! Well, I am really rambling way too much here. Let’s get to 2 Samuel 23; we will close out 2 Samuel tomorrow.

As we pick up in chapter 23, we read/listen to King David’s last song. He writes of what it is like to be a king, reflecting back a bit on his past. He also points out some men who needed special recognition for their bravery and warrior spirit. It is strange to me that the very thing that kept David from being allowed to build God’s temple was what he reflected on so much in his last days.

As we close for today, I would like to end on a funny note. As David writes out these last few paragraphs, all I can think about is “easy for you to say!” These names are real tongue twisters, but our narrator from Blue Letter Bible does an amazing job of confidently pronouncing each one! Your questions and comments are always welcome via PM/DM, although today’s responses will probably be delayed until after our long drive home.

  Talk with you soon!
