1st Kings 1 King David in His Old Age


  Good Tuesday morning, Yesterday was a day of rest for us, after our full day of driving in the crosswinds the day before. We did straighten out a few things around here, but mostly just rested. It was bitterly cold outside, so it was a good day for movies and naps.

  I am so excited for you to read/listen to today’s chapter as we start the fascinating book of 1st Kings! I will keep this brief, as this chapter is right at 8 minutes. We will be introduced to the man who becomes the wisest man in history, yet he, too, was fallen and sinful. He took polygamy to a whole new level, so maybe the wisdom was not granted in that one area? Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
