1st Samuewl 26 Storms on The Little Hundred Acre Wood

What amazing storms we had here last night on The Little Hundred Acre Wood! The lightning was constant and spread out across the whole horizon, and close by, too! Madeline and I are back to being alone now that all the adult kids have left from the holiday visit. We are never truly alone; we have God, each other, our church family, and then there are the ten to 20 animals here, depending on the time of year. We usually start out in the spring with more chickens and end up losing many to predators in late spring. This is common as the predators begin to wean their young, and just about everything loves to eat fresh chicken! I hope to get a large chain link fence to protect them for that season someday!

I know some of my regular readers just want to hear about the life we have here, but if that is all you read, I have failed my mission! My mission is to try to convince you of the value of reading the whole Bible cover to cover in context! So, mostly my mission is equipping the saints, or discipling (furthering the saved in their relationship with God), but I also have the Great Commission, common to all Christians, that is spreading the Gospel around the world so people can be saved!

For the skeptics out there, no, I do not do this out of insecurity! I am at peace with my purpose in life and almost never engage in debate! God has revealed Himself to me through the miracle of salvation and deliverance from all kinds of personal addictions! If you knew me before Christ got a hold of me, you would not recognize me as the same man! Reminds me of a Christian Country song that is out right now, "If You Miss The Old Me That's Jesus' Fault"! So for me, God is as real as the cup of coffee sitting next to you! But He is a gentleman, and will not reveal Himself to you unless you invite Him in! That is called “free-will” among those who study this relationship with Christ!

So, why don’t I just go start a church instead of this strange internet ministry? My seminary professor has probably been asking that same question as he sees my writings daily. But I can only tell you that for now, this is what God called me to do, so that is what I will stick to, until He instructs me differently!

Because I used to struggle greatly with pride, God uses me this way. I do not get to see much of the harvest, but He does grant me some of that! But on a fairly regular basis, I get to hear about someone who uses this ministry as their daily quiet time with God, and that brings me great Joy to be of service to them in their walk with Jesus!

Well, before this becomes a book, let’s get to Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, where we are reading/listening to 1st Samuel 26 as David spares the life of Saul one more time! But this time it is a very public display and seems to really humble King Saul, for a while anyway! Saul's personal guards must have been completely humiliated at this point!
