1ST Samuel 8-9 A King is anointed over Israel!


 Good Thursday morning, everyone! Welcome to Today's Daily Bible Challenge, where we read/listen to the Whole Bible cover to cover, one or sometimes two chapters at a time! We meet here every morning, 365 days a year! Today we are in chapters 8 & 9 of 1st Samuel. The people of Israel will be entering a new era with a king instead of just men of God anointed as high priests or Judges. All this was more rebellion against God, as He was to be their King!

 There is a very important name in today’s chapter, one that later will become central to the years leading up to the lineage of Jesus. This name is Saul, and he is central to King David’s rise to power and, therefore, taking his place in the prophesied lineage of Jesus!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in).
