1ST Samuel 13


  Good Monday morning, I was able to sleep through the night last night. I do like rising early, but the third watch/3:00 AM, like yesterday, is a bit much for me. But sometimes He wakes me for a time of fervent prayer, sometimes it is my usual 4 or 4:30, and then the rare morning like today, where I slept until 5:30 and feel like I am out of sync with the world! I try to post this early each day so you can use it as a way to do your quiet time with God!


  We are in 1st Samuel 13 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge. If Saul wasn’t having a sleepless night, he sure should have been. He is being surrounded now by war and makes some foolish decisions, and Samuel lets him know about his grave mistakes! Saul definitely gets out of sync with God and will pay a huge price along the way. See if you can find out what his big mistake is and then send me a comment about your answer! Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
