1ST Samuel 11 God's deliverance through Saul!

We bid you all a good Saturday morning as far as this post shall reach! I worked hard, maybe too hard for my age, yesterday, but now my little corner office looking over the Little Hundred Acre Wood has new flooring. The carpets were cheap and old when we moved in eight years ago, and with the hounds at my feet daily, they had become disgusting! The animals are not sure about these brand-new wood floors, but we humans love them! With the dark walls and the four new windows, this room is just how I had imagined it would be someday after the rest of the house was put together. My darling bride’s desires were put before mine, after all, this is her castle, well, really more of a farmhouse…LOL! Mostly, my territory is the basement area, except for this office, now it is my little slice of heaven on earth!

I sit here in this office in the wee hours of the morning writing to you about my Lord and Savior, Jesus, the one who is the Christ! I have spent much of my adult life reading the Bible, and one day God put it on my heart to start sharing it with people, to my surprise, through social media! We read the Bible one or sometimes two chapters a day, 365 days a year. God put it on my heart when I was 18 that I was to go to seminary. Well. I hemmed and hawed for many years, but finally finished that in my old age. Now I serve in our church and do this ministry and a few others.

I tell you this not to brag, you see, I was far from the Lord in my heart, deeds, and words for many years, rejecting His calling and even running from Him! I strayed far, doing many unthinkable things. I was an addict of many kinds, with Alcohol being my go-to sin! But later in life, I learned that that was all stemming from the sin of Pride. God delivered me from alcohol, sexual addictions, and much more. I have been sober for 26 years now due to His deliverance, not my will-power! You see, that is why I get up daily before the sun and write to you. I want to tell you the good news! He can deliver you, too! Basically, the Gospel of Jesus is that we are all sinners and through His sacrifice on the cross, we can all be forgiven and start a new life in Christ. Often referred to as being born again…Jesus’ own words!
