Judges 6 Gideon's Bible, Who was this guy?



 Good morning, it is Tuesday already, and there is much work to do! Have you ever heard the phrase Gideon’s Bible? Yes, the Bibles in the bedside tables of hotels around the world! Well, they get their name from Gideon, and that is who chapter 6 of Judges is all about!

 Have you ever tested God? I tend to be too afraid to test Him directly to His face! But Gideon did it three times in this one chapter and survived! To be clearer, he tested that it was really God speaking to him and not his imagination or satan’s trickery. I think testing God this way is a very wise thing to do! Especially with all the noise of today’s lifestyles! There are people and organizations everywhere telling you this or that, and telling you if you do this, then life will be great! Take this pill and you will lose weight and everyone will love you! Take this pill and it will cure you of this or that! Drive this car, and everyone will respect you! The messages are endless!

 So, how do you test what you are hearing? Madeline and I test things through the Word of God! We pray and read the Bible and find out if this is satan’s lies or God’s truth! So in a way, we test God like Gideon as we ask ourselves, is this what God has for us, or is this what the secular world is forcing upon us, or trying to trick us into believing?

 Then there is me, begging you, read your Bible and start a saving relationship with Christ, and you too will be saved and live eternally with God in heaven! But please test that also, after all, I am just some guy on the internet!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in).
