Joshua 5 Flint knives and no more manna!

Good Saturday morning to each of you! I am preparing to go serve at the monthly food drive/distribution just south of Glen Rose, TX. I love this ministry and have done it every month I can for years. I missed the last one because of Madeline’s hospitalisation. We usually have the same group of volunteers, and we have all kind of become a family! I am not much help there due to my bad back, but I try the best I can! We may have hundreds of cars pull through for groceries, or we may have just thirty or so; we never know! Serving like this and seeing people who pick up food for several families that are shut in is such an uplifting experience. Somehow God uses service like this to bless the servers as much as the receivers! There is something very grounding in mission work like this. Every car is prayed over if they say yes to the request. But everyone is prayed over at the beginning, whether they grant us permission or not! We want everyone to see tis as God’s love poured out over their families. Hard times can hit anyone at any point in their lives. We are not there to judge, only to share the love of Christ!

Well, I am rambling again, it's hard not to, I have such passion for this ministry! A dear friend of mine (James) is the Pastor of this small country church called Coenerstone, and his friendship and work at this church are part of my finally going through Seminary to quit running from my calling! I am so thankful God put him in my life about five or six years ago now!

Today’s Daily Bible Challenge is Joshua 5 and is more than a little uncomfortable to talk about, but it was even more uncomfortable for the men who crossed over the Jordan River into the Promised Land. Thank goodness tlint knives are very, very sharp! Oh, there is one more interesting tidbit here: the manna that God had used to feed these approximately four million people for the last forty years stopped falling when the people ate the first food from the Promised Land! Could you imagine eating only quail and Manna for forty years!

Happy Saturday! We hope to talk with you soon.
