Deuteronomy 31 Moses' 120th Birthday and his impending death.





  I write this note to all of you as Madeline and I prepare to head out for a couple of days for a wedding in Houston. We cherish this young bride and look forward to seeing what God does in their life as the two become one! She is such a loving spirit and a great teacher. Oh, if you are new here, The Daily Bible Challenge will still be posted from H-town, rain or shine, 365!

  Our chapter (31 of Deuteronomy) is about Moses’ Birthday at 120 years old, and he is still alert and writing everything God has given him for the people. It is not a typical birthday celebration as he prepares to turn over the leadership to Joshua in preparations for his own God foretold impending death. Moses stayed so faithful to his calling, even in the face of great personal loss.

  The prophecy in the middle of this chapter is a tough read. It must have been tough on Moses to know that these people would betray God again and again after his own death!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in).
