Deuteronomy 28 Pondering the more difficult chapters of the Bible!



  Good morning, this will be short today, because chapter 28 of Deuteronomy is ten minutes long and it is far more important than any of my words. I will not sugarcoat this; it is three minutes of easy, then seven minutes of very tough words! But please remember, keep this all in context, Moses is speaking to the Jewish people, not the Gentiles. Not that we can escape the wrath of God by not being Jewish! Just that this warning is very much for them. As I read, I pondered if some of the Jewish people had already endured some of these curses. Lord, please come back soon, I don’t think I could bear seeing all these things come to pass!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
