Deuteronomy 17 How to set up a Court System! & Jesus is in the Old Testament Too!

  


If only we could follow this example given to us for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge in Deuteronomy 17. We are given an outline for how to run our laws and courts, and some of it reminds me of how the USA was originally set up! Yes, it is a government led by the Religious Leaders, but if you look at it more closely, it is not far from our own in principle. We see that the death penalty is set up by God and is not to be taken lightly! We see that these punishments are to put enough fear in the tempted that they will choose not to break the law! 

   Yes, there is so much to learn from the Old Testament and the New, if we would only read about it and learn where we have gone astray! But for me, and I hope someday for you, the Old Testament will begin to show you the prophecy that Jesus is the Messiah and our deliverer. That even in Isaiah, we will hear all about Jesus some seven hundred years before He was born. It is truly unmistakable that it is Jesus who is being written about! But please don’t trust me for this life-saving information! Read/listen to it all for yourself here at The Daily Bible Challenge!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in).
