Deuteronomy 14 Are Those Dove You Are Hunting Biblically Clean?

Good morning to everyone, but especially the Texas hunters, as this is opening day for Dove season. For the rest of you, happy Labor Day! I can remember many days of my youth walking through Texas fields, waiting to flush some dove, or walking to a tank to wait for the nightly flight to water. I can almost taste the bacon-wrapped breasts after grilling over a mesquite fire! Such great memories I have of this from my college days, and then again when my kids were of age to hunt with me! But are those doves clean animals according to Biblical law? Yes, Yes, Yes they are! Click the link at the bottom of this page to read/listen for yourself! Christians, you are free to eat of this Texas treasure of the sky! Oh, but wait, if you really want to do this right, you may want to wrap them in turkey bacon, that pig is definitely is considered unclean by most!

But as we Christians are considered Gentiles, we have a new covenant, where Peter was told by God that what God has made clean do not consider unholy. {Acts 11:9}. But did that include bacon/pigs to wrap our dove breasts and jalapenos in? Sorry, but on this, I do not have a firm answer! There is one other relevant point I want you to consider. If you are getting bored with all this, because of the repetitive nature of these books. In Biblical times, they did not have the exclamation mark or bold print, or italics. So to emphasize a point, they repeated it, and repeating it three times meant it was extremely important!

   Talk with you soon!
