Acts 6:8 and 7,and 8 we are off course for a day but will pick back up in Deuteronomy tomorrow!
God bless all of us as we awake to 9/11/s remembrances, but also to mourn as a nation, as yesterday we lost one of the greatest men of our time here on earth, Charlie Kirk! If his wife sees this post, I hope she understands the depth of my compliment to her late husband as I compare him to Stephen of the Bible! To be completely transparent, this is not an original idea. I am not sure who posted this comparison first, but it isn’t me! Here is some background from the Bible on Stephen, and in a way, Charlie! Acts 6:9-10 NASB95 - But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, [including] both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen. But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.
Verse 10 is my sincere compliment to Charlie Kirk! He was a great and peaceful warrior of Christ! His God imparted wisdom was way beyond his years! Yes, my heart is broken like so many others as I start this Thursday morning. But what I hope will happen from all of this is that, like Stephen’s cruel death, Charlie’s death will also cause a huge spread of God’s message of love, hope, and peace! And that is how Charlie would have wanted it! Hopefully, his death will mark the beginning of a worldwide awakening and a bold revival for God and His ways for all of us.
After Stephen’s death, the fear of persecution caused a scattering of the disciples of Christ, but in no way did it silence any of them! It spread them out to cover more territory for Christ’s Gospel to be heard by many more around the world, as I hope and pray Charlie’s death will also do for all of us!
Charlie lived a life by this code: God, family, country in that order! We need to honor his death by making sure it wasn’t in vain. How we do that is to spread his message of truth and Jesus’s Gospel (Good News) to all we meet, and respectfully let them know when we disagree with them! I always found Charlie to be respectful in his debates, and we should be too!
Yes, I want justice for his killer, and I must admit to still being burning with anger inside. The Bible allows for righteous anger, and that is what I have! But the Bible also allows for the death penalty, and I am glad Utah still has it in place (Genesis 9:6)! We get the opportunity now to prove to Charlie’s killer that there is a God and His name is Jesus, the one who is the Christ!
We are promised persecution for following Christ, and we saw that lived out yesterday as one of our time's greatest servants of Christ was gunned down in front of so many people! Charlie would not want his death to be in vain, and he would want all of us to rise up and be strong and brave to face this first day and every day thereafter without hearing his great voice! He would want us to proclaim the name of Jesus far and wide and with the same boldness Charlie always showed us!
Talk with you soon!
