Numbers 19 Uncleanness and Red Heifers, That is Cows for You City-folk!


 
  Good morning and Happy Friday to each of you! I am headed out early this morning to try and complete some work before the heat comes in. My truck (Eeyore the 2nd) is still loaded from yesterday, so it will be a fast start! It is simple work, but on a ladder from the bed of my truck. However, sometimes church work involves painting, screws, and signs. But at least I get to talk with yall about God before I head out!

  We are in the book of Numbers, chapter 19, for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, and we read/hear about a red cow, or Red Heifer, and why it is so important back then and again today in Israel. Why today? Because the red heifers are needed now for Israel to purify to start making the new Temple/Tabernacle. The spotless red heifers have been arranged and delivered to Israel from right here in Texas. There is even a book about it on Amazon, Hunt for the Red Heifers. I know the author and his story about this experience, and it should be a great read!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in).
