Deuteronomy 5 and Madeline in the ER



  Good morning, I am making this very short as I need to return to Madeline’s bedside in the hospital. She has been in the ER or the hospital since 8 am yesterday. It would seem that she has Diverticulitis, and it has gone septic; she is on massive antibiotics and is doing much better this morning. Well enough that she told me to return home and care for the animals, and pick up some things for her. So, I thought I would take this time to request prayer for my bride of 38 years! But even she told me I needed to go post The Daily Bible Challenge, so here I am!
 
  Today, we are in chapter 5 of Deuteronomy, and it is a beautifully written review of the Ten Commandments and the times right before and after they were given by God. Click the link and listen for yourself as we read the whole Bible one chapter at a time!

Judges 7 God dealing with the pride of man, through Gideon

 Good morning, we have made it to Wednesday, and all is good! What an incredible God story we have in Today’s Daily Bible Challenge as we read/listen to Judges 7. I can only imagine what Gideon must have been feeling as God took away twenty-two thousand of his soldiers. God did this as Gideon was preparing for a battle in which he was already outnumbered by tens of thousands! But Gideon remained faithful, and then God took it from ten thousand to just three hundred! Would you have argued with God, or maybe even just fled for your life?  Are you wondering why God would have done this? In my youth, I wondered about it too! 1st Kings 4 Promises kept, although slower that planned!

    Good morning, I hope this letter finds you and yours well. We are doing well here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. With two hounds at my feet and a tiny cat in my lap, I write to all of you with great joy in my heart! It has been such a blessing to see this blog grow so much this past year, not for my gain but for God’s glory. Please humor me as I catch up on some details for long-time readers on our project list here on the homestead.   The pressure washing will start here on the house today, and the paint should start Monday if the weather holds up for us. Some of the siding got dirty as this project started over two years ago. (even under a real tarp, dirt crept in). A brother from church has asked to do the work, and he is very experienced with painting with the high-pressure spray type rig I am providing.
