Numbers 2 How to Design a City and a Life!


  Good morning, I hope your week is off to a good start. My workweek is stalled due to the weather and the exterior painting involved in this repair. So, I used my time yesterday to find the missing link on my antique truck suspension/steering; it was literally called the center-link or, more commonly, the drag-link. Someone listed a NOS, OEM part, and these are very rare to find, so I jumped on the deal ASAP! This, with the Idlerarm, means I will have 100% all-new parts in the front end! I also ordered the weatherstripping for the doors to quiet things down, as I am about to finish the new floorboards, too. I have all these parts laid out in my shop in the order of when they will go in. This kind of order is important for such a big project.

  Well, God has an order to things too, and that is just what we will be reading/listening to this morning in the second chapter of the book of Numbers. He has a plan for society and how we are to live together. He even has it planned for how cities are to be laid out. Where we are to live, right down to where each family is to live in relation to the location of our house of worship. I think this has a direct correlation to how we are to live our lives now. God at the center (house of worship as the center of the city), just as the Holy Spirit is to live in our hearts, right at the center of us! I can also see the strategic value this will have if someone were to attack the city, as housing was wrapped all the way around the house of worship (Tabernacle), making a perimeter circle that would ease communication in an emergency. Keeping God at the center of your life is a way to keep your strength while under attack, too!

   Good morning, I will keep my ramblings very short this morning because we are doing two chapters for Todfay's Daily Bible Challenge. We are listening to chapters 9 and 10 of Leviticus. Chapter ten has something new for you to help break the difficult monotony of Leviticus! When the audiobook finishes chapter nine, just wait three seconds, and chapter ten will start on its own.    God was very clear in His instructions, and Moses and Aaron presented the details very clearly. God’s wrath was stirred when things were not followed correctly! Two sons of Aaron were made examples of by God to establish just how serious He was about how to run the tabernacle and the rituals of sacrifice. Exodus 16 God's Provision, Manna

 God's Provision, Manna Good morning from the little corner office overlooking the rainy and thoroughly soaked, Little Hundred Acre Wood. There are still flashes of extreme lightning in the distance. I have always loved this artwork, but it seems to have passed by and is on its way east. This provision of rain will be nourishing our grape orchard, and it’s just in time to save the young grapes, our largest crop ever after planting five years ago now. These are all table grapes, and our weather is not ideal for growing these. Maybe this year will be our first real abundance of grapes! We are quite entrenched in The Little Hundred Acre Wood now, this will be the longest we have lived in one house, seven years has always marked big changes in our lives. Who knows what God will bring this time, or if He has plans for us to stay planted here for the rest of our days.
