Numbers 11 Quail to eat and a plague

  

  Good morning, if you are still with us on this sometimes dry and difficult journey, congratulations! If you are new, we read/listen to the whole Bible cover to cover, this is called The Daily Bible Challenge. The next two days are far more interesting reads, but there will be other dry spells to come. So, if you are like me, I sometimes get frustrated with the slow and tedious chapters. To help us all keep motivated, here is what came to me in prayers this morning. Jesus was a Jew; therefore, anything we can learn about Him, and His upbringing, and His culture will help us understand Him more! He died by choice to save us, and therefore deserves the respect from us to stay engaged in the readings of His word. Our worldview from all the secular culture around us makes us misunderstand much of the cultural references in the Bible. So when you don’t understand something, ask questions and search out the answers, even if it seems trivial, dig in and learn more about our Lord and Savior Jesus, the one that is the Christ!    Good morning, I will keep my ramblings very short this morning because we are doing two chapters for Todfay's Daily Bible Challenge. We are listening to chapters 9 and 10 of Leviticus. Chapter ten has something new for you to help break the difficult monotony of Leviticus! When the audiobook finishes chapter nine, just wait three seconds, and chapter ten will start on its own.    God was very clear in His instructions, and Moses and Aaron presented the details very clearly. God’s wrath was stirred when things were not followed correctly! Two sons of Aaron were made examples of by God to establish just how serious He was about how to run the tabernacle and the rituals of sacrifice.       Good Friday morning to all of you! We have a busy day today with behind-the-scenes work for God and His people. This is the kind of thing most people don’t even think of, yet it is part of making all the pieces fit together in a church. There are so many people reaching out in need every week around the world, but behind the scenes, someone is vetting the recipients, and then after that, others are serving them with hearts full of hope and love! You may be asking, “What is this vetting”? Well, to be good stewards of God’s resources, someone needs to make sure these are not con artists going from church to church and other organizations every month, taking advantage and living high off the generosity of others and stealing those resources from the truly needy. But after the vetting, there is only love, support, and opportunities to grow and find a pathway to break the chains of poverty. Exodus 16 God's Provision, Manna

 God's Provision, Manna Good morning from the little corner office overlooking the rainy and thoroughly soaked, Little Hundred Acre Wood. There are still flashes of extreme lightning in the distance. I have always loved this artwork, but it seems to have passed by and is on its way east. This provision of rain will be nourishing our grape orchard, and it’s just in time to save the young grapes, our largest crop ever after planting five years ago now. These are all table grapes, and our weather is not ideal for growing these. Maybe this year will be our first real abundance of grapes! We are quite entrenched in The Little Hundred Acre Wood now, this will be the longest we have lived in one house, seven years has always marked big changes in our lives. Who knows what God will bring this time, or if He has plans for us to stay planted here for the rest of our days.
