Numbers 1 Are You New HERE to TDBC?
Good Monday morning, near and far, I am up very early this morning, not for any particular reason, it just happens. Sometimes God wakens me for prayer, but I was not so led this morning, just awake and ready to start this day and write to you about our Lord and Savior and the amazing books He left us. If you are new to this whole Bible thing, it is a compilation of sixty-six books from over 40 authors written over a span of 1500 years. Yet it all ties together with remarkable accuracy! This fact is also why it can be used as its own cross-reference. Many will say you can't use it to prove itself, but because it is a compilation, that is a false argument!
You are reading from a daily Blog that is called The Daily Bible Challenge. Our mission is to get people around the world to read the whole Bible cover to cover. The percentage of even self-proclaimed Christians who have read it cover to cover is alarmingly small. So I am calling on that obstinate part of you that loves a challenge. I bet you can’t or won’t do it, read sixty-six books in order, at least one chapter a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year! Nah, I don’t want to bet against you, I want to encourage you, this time invested in God’s word will change everything about your life from the inside out! Now I am not promising financial gain, although it is possible. But I am promising a change in your heart and mind! God has a way of doing that with people if they are open-minded. Then again, He has a way of changing even the most skeptical hearts and minds. If you doubt that, go read the account of an investigative reporter named Lee Stroble or watch the movie about him and his reluctant God story!
We just finished what I consider to be the hardest book of the Bible (Leviticus), so you lucked out! Today, we start the book of Numbers! We will learn just how many men of fighting age were in the huge group of Jewish sojourners/nomads that escaped slavery in Egypt by God's miraculous intervention. It is estimated that there are a total of up to four million men, women, and children in this traveling community. Oh, if you are new here, I left out one other important detail: we use blueletterbible.org to listen to the Bible, and I like to read along with the audiobook, too. There are many great training videos on YouTube about how to use many of the tools on Blue Letter Bible, and there is also a phone app! But I have found most of it to be very easy to use with the quick-nav button on their home page.
So join us here daily to take the Daily Bible Challenge and stop listening to gossip about God and start listening to God about God! Just click the link below, and the audiobook will pop up and start reading it to you word for word! We welcome your comments or questions via Direct Messaging.
Talk with you soon!
