Leviticus 6

Good Monday morning, as I watch the sun lighting up the thin clouds to the east, I feel sorry for those who don’t believe. Why, you ask? Because knowing the maker of all these things of beauty seems to bring even more appreciation for the created things and for the Creator! Mondays are the best, as I eagerly await what this week will bring. Yes, last week was not one of my best, but I have such hope for what this week will bring!

Last week ended poorly as I had a dozen laying hens on Monday, and by Sunday, foxes had us down to three! They can jump so high that the electric net fence is useless! These are an important part of our retirement food supply, but I don’t want them to live their lives trapped in a tiny cage! However, I also have no plans to feed the local wildlife with our poultry! So I will begin the process of developing protection from foxes!

Today we are in Leviticus 6, and the perpetrator of havoc is not a fox, but sin in the people Moses is leading. Sin must be paid for in an open and honest manner. God provided a plan to deal with these sinful people, and later, through the work of Jesus, He created a new plan for all of us to deal with sin too! Like we read here, it involves confession and payment, but Jesus made the payment for all of us who will accept His gift! No more animal sacrifice is needed as Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice!

Without Jesus’ payment for our sins, the outcome would be quite bleak: eternity in hell, to be blunt! But with it, there is eternity in heaven with God and a great life here on earth before that! I choose the latter and hope you will too! If you have questions about how to choose this new life in Christ, please contact us via direct messaging on any of the platforms you read this post.
