Leviticus 1&2 Bloody mess this tent of meeting!

For you who live for such news, it’s Friday! Yesterday we went to Weatherford, TX, and the doctor adjusted my medication, so maybe my energy levels will return soon. I am tired of being tired! God has a plan even in all this, so I await His plan to be revealed with an excited heart! Today’s Daily Bible Challenge is two shorter chapters, as we begin Leviticus (1&2). It is right at the 5 minutes, we try to keep our reading to 5 minutes or less when possible. The plan here is some prayer time and reading each day, not to exceed 15 minutes for those in the busy lifestyle of this time we live in. If your schedule allows for more time, please do so! More prayer is always a good idea!

Chapter one teaches us what a bloody mess the tent of meeting must have become! It brings to mind so many questions for me: Did they clean all this up after each sacrifice? Did they allow the blood of a bull to mix with other animal sacrifices? Were the flies so thick all the time? I could go on and on with such questions. But I am so glad I don’t have to, you see, Jesus replaced all these sacrifices with His own body and blood when He died on the cross!

These animals paid the price for all the sins of the people in Leviticus, just as Jesus pays the price for all the sins in our lives now. The wages of sin (or the price) for sin is death. By dying for us, Jesus paid our price to get into heaven. But even more than that, He paid the price for us to be living with God NOW! When you accept Jesus as your LORD and Savior, He writes your name in the book of life for entrance into heaven later. But at that time, a process begins to break the chains of this world, with Jesus' shed blood washing you clean of any and all sins today. Somewhere along that timeline, the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in your heart and mine! Don’t get me wrong, you will still be a sinner, but it will be a mistake, not a premeditated choice or lifestyle! The only perfect person was Jesus. Our goal is to model Jesus for others, but we will fall short, probably daily. But God’s grace is enough to overcome our mistakes!
