Exodus 37 Fine craftsmanship is important in life!
Good Monday morning. I'm happy to have my black coffee this morning, as I'm fasting for bloodwork at 7:30 in a town about an hour's drive away. I got up at 3:30 so I can write today’s post before leaving, otherwise it would be quite late to be a part of your morning quiet time! Until God tells me otherwise, this is my calling, and it brings me great joy to serve God and you this way! God leads me, and I write to you as He reveals a daily message. Sometimes I don’t like the message, but it is not mine to change! Other days, I seem to be closed off to His leading, and it seems as if it is just my words, rambling on about The Little Hundred Acre Wood and such, or an old truck named Eeyore. But even on those days, He seems to lead it back around to the chapter of the day!
Today in Exodus 37, we hear of the actual building of all the items for the inside of the Tabernacle. The altar, the ark of the covenant, the table for incense, and the table for the showbread. The craftsman also creates the Lampstand and all the utensils for the sacrifices. All this detail probably overwhelms some of you, but it is how the Hebrew language of the time emphasized the importance of all these details! Remember how I drone on and on about the importance of context? Well, understanding the cultural differences of the language is important to keeping the Bible in context.
So as I prepare to go pour out my blood, I hope that the amazing technician will be there that early. With her expertise (craftsmanship if you will), this goes off without hardly a flinch. Paying attention to the little stuff can make a huge difference in the overall final outcome in life. But keeping an eye on the overall “big” picture is important too!
I can choose how I will look at this day, yes, bloodwork is not fun! But having those test results so we can adjust my meds for the Hashimoto’s means that I can be happy about doing this, knowing that we are in the final stages of getting that disease under control!
What are you dreading about your Monday? Can you find the positives and charge forward? I am sure Bezalel (The craftsman) struggled to start this huge project, making all these fine furnishings, but once he started it, all became easier! Just as I struggled to start the rebuild of the whole front drivetrain and suspension on Eeyore! Sometimes I struggle to start the first sentence of The Daily Bible Challenge. But once that first couple of sentences are on the screen, it all becomes easier. Just like the Daily Bible Challenge seems daunting at first, but like many others have, you too can use this blog to read the whole Bible one chapter at a time. Then you, too, can count yourself among the statistical few that have read it all cover to cover!
I pray your Monday goes as wonderful as possible and that starting in God’s word sets you off on the right course for the week! Click the link below to listen to Exodus 37 for yourself!
