Exodus 35 The first building campaign!
Good Saturday morning to each of you from the little corner office overlooking The Little Hundred Acre Wood and the far reaches of Lake Granbury. We are so blessed to live here after so many years feeling trapped in the “Big City”, where we could rarely see the horizon for all the buildings and houses. Those walls of the big city seemed to always be closing in on me, not so much for my bride. There is just something in my DNA that drove me out of there! I loved and still love so many people there, but our hearts are now here in a more rural part of Texas!
God granted us this, or maybe He was the one who made me yearn for this lifestyle in the first place! We have met so many people who have moved to this area, saying they had no idea why, but God brought them here for something! Maybe God did all this so I could be writing this letter to you this morning. Sharing with you how God moved in our lives and brought us here for healing first, and then a true, intimate relationship with each other, with God now firmly at the center of our marriage. God has a plan for you, too. Will you slow down and listen to hear it?
We hear of how detailed God’s plans can be in chapter 35 of Exodus for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge. The church calls a time like this a building campaign, as they collect all the things needed to build the first Tabernacle. Even though this tabernacle is portable, it is like a church and builds a sense of community! God still uses this plan today; there is a deeper community when you are part of a church body. Yes, the church is made of flawed people, so sometimes churches hurt people! But when you have a church that functions the way God planned it, people are healed and grow strong in their faith and begin to serve others, living out Jesus’ two new commandments. (Luk 10:27 NASB95) - And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
That is how StoneWater church is set up. We do this with the seven family values we live by! Here is a link to those values: https://stonewaterchurch.com/familyvalues/ I personally want to invite you to our church if you are around one of our seven campuses, or our online services if you are not in North Central Texas.
