Exodus 34 How was your day you ask? Do you really want to know?

Good Friday morning to all of you! My day kind of went into the crapper yesterday, no, literally! I don’t remember anything in Seminary classes that prepared me for my ministry yesterday LOL! As I lay in the mud, flushing out a black tank on an RV that had been clogged up. The church uses this RV to shelter single moms or expectant moms in crisis. This ministry falls under my role, and part of that is to keep this all in working order and coordinate volunteers and service providers to help serve the moms. But actually doing this work is not what I had planned! I am authorised to hire all this out, but we needed things “cleared up” by nightfall when the mom returned from work, and I could not locate anyone who would pump the tank and clear the blockage! So, because I knew how to fix this, I said this little prayer, “ God, please tell me when I get to the fun part of ministry today, as I don’t want to miss it”! With about five hours before giving a public testimony from the stage, I began this not-fun project! God blessed me with not getting sick, as I have a weak stomach for such situations! After many tries, and after more than three hours of parts runs and work, all was resolved. But I assure you, I was happy to think of this crisis being over for this young, soon-to-be mom; she has enough on her plate! Later that evening, my testimony went well, and few knew that I was lying in mud dealing with crap, just a few hours before. I think God used my life story of rebellion turned to loving obedience to touch a few hearts. What will God ask you to do?

I beg you to take care before complaining to your Pastor about the air conditioner setting or the carpet color, or the… whatever little detail that is bugging you. You may never know all the “CRAP” he has been tending to all day before you walked up to complane. I’m sure he will listen, but it might seem trivial from his perspective. Kind of like the color or condition of his uniform would seem to a soldier in the trenches of war. There have always been these thoughts (mostly from occasional visitors) that Pastors only work one day a week, so their lives are so easy! But for most of them, it might surprise you what their week’s work actually entailed!

So, what does this have to do with Exodus 34 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge? From my perspective, Moses was a Pastor, and more to these people! I like to mentally put myself in Moses’ shoes/sandals as he struggled to protect his flock from what they deserved after the golden calf incident and their other complaining along the journey! I enjoy seeing how close a relationship with God Moses has developed. He has come so far in this journey! If you have questions on how you too can start a close and intimate relationship with God, please shoot us a PM/DM and we will get back with you personally today!

Talk with you soon!
