Exodus 20 Fearing God?

Good Friday morning to each and every one of you. It has been a long week for me, and a busy day ahead also! I am quite late in posting this due to my computer having issues this morning, but after multiple reboots and unplugging and replugging the keyboard dongle, she is up and running again! Now, if all that would work for my brain and body this morning, do humans have dongles and master resets?

My new tires are due to arrive sometime today, but I am pretty sure it will be too late in the day to get them mounted. After that massive blowout on the highway on Wednesday, I am driving around like an old guy (way under the speed limit) until those new tires are mounted. The trials of a modern man are minuscule in comparison to where we find the sojourners of Exodus this morning. Let’s get to chapter twenty of Exodus for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge!

Moses is on the mountain and is given the Ten Commandments verbally. The people are hearing God and seeing Him as fire and smoke descended on the mountain. They are so scared that they ask Moses to tell God not to talk to them directly anymore.

The first time I heard God, I trembled in fear too! Fear can lead to some pretty bad decisions in life, and many life coaches will teach you not to make any decisions out of fear. Resolve the fear first, and then calculate the decision. Many things are easier said than done. But deciding to change the direction in your life to follow Christ is best done and then said! Doing is what God wants to see from you; thinking about it or talking about it will not get you into a relationship with God.

Start your relationship today by praying directly to Jesus and asking for His forgiveness, then give thanks for His sacrifice for you and ask Him to come into your heart and become your Lord and Savior. Yes LORD! There is surrender to His will as part of this relationship. It is not slavery, but is actually the opposite; there is freedom in this new life in Christ! Freedom from the chains of the sin that has ruled our lives before Christ. Yes, you will still sin, but it will be a slip-up up not a choice and lifestyle.

If you have questions about any of this, please contact us directly through messages, not comments.

Talk with you soon!
