Genesis 34 Dinah has been raped!

    


Good morning, we are doing well and celebrating God’s blessings this week! We hope that your week is going very well also! We are in chapter 34 of Genesis for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge.     It is a tragic story in a family for today’s text, one of rape and deception and complete vigilanty justice against a whole city for the crime of one man. I must admit there is a part of me that likes this outcome as I think rape is a terrible crime and deserves swift and brutal justice! But I can also see that these brothers didn’t consult God before acting out on their anger. Did you know that the sin of rape has a root of pride? In fact, almost all sin is rooted in pride! We will have to see later if this deception and vigilantism bring God’s wrath on the brothers or not. Pride is the downfall of almost every man or woman that has ever stumbled, but it takes a deeper study and self-awareness to even recognise that our actions are so prideful! 

   Our culture has taught us that whatever we see and want, we can have, that is PRIDE! But that is not what we learn from God’s Bible! We are to learn self-control, as we are gifted with the Holy Spirit, we are also to begin to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit, and the culmination of those fruits is self-control, which allows others to see that you are living for a God purpose instead of a me purpose! That purpose is to love His people, but that does not necessarily look like mushy love; It might be pointing out how we live out of prideful ways instead of God’s ways! Ask yourself, can others tell I am a Christian? Jesus tells us in Jhn 13:35 NASB95 - "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Leviticus 9 Be a doer of God's word! It is a safer place to be, don't make stuff up on your own!

   Good morning, I will keep my ramblings very short this morning because we are doing two chapters for Todfay's Daily Bible Challenge. We are listening to chapters 9 and 10 of Leviticus. Chapter ten has something new for you to help break the difficult monotony of Leviticus! When the audiobook finishes chapter nine, just wait three seconds, and chapter ten will start on its own.    God was very clear in His instructions, and Moses and Aaron presented the details very clearly. God’s wrath was stirred when things were not followed correctly! Two sons of Aaron were made examples of by God to establish just how serious He was about how to run the tabernacle and the rituals of sacrifice. Exodus 10-11 Locusts and much worse on the way!

     Good Wednesday morning to all of you! It is a strange morning for mid-May here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood. It is 57 degrees, and for us, that is a cold morning in May; our mornings are typically 76 degrees or more by this date. I will take full advantage of the cool weather for a project on my antique truck! Soon enough, we will have triple-digit weather for at least 3 months, so we will take advantage of any breaks like today! Later, I have a lunch with my son and my bride of 38 years in a small town a bit south of us. I love these little excursions just for fun or even for work, travel is something that is set in my bones for life! Soon we will be able to take some of these trips in my little antique truck, and that will make it even more of an adventure! But none of my adventures can hold a candle to Moses and Aaron as they battled with a king, the pharaoh of Egypt.
