Genesis 30 Just one wife for me thank you!
Good morning, I hope your Easter weekend was full of family and fun, and worship for the one who paid the price
for our deliverance! Our Holy Week was great, and we are anxious to start this week ahead, for God has blessed
us greatly this week! Madeline and James are up and getting ready for work, so my little corner office looking over
The Little Hundred Acre Wood is not as quiet as normal for this time of day, but they are good sounds, and I am at
peace with it. Work is a blessing, but must be kept in perspective or it swallows up our very souls!
We are in Genesis 30 this morning, and we find that Jacob is in a very rare situation for any man; his many wives
are fighting/negotiating over who will get to bear his next children. It is quite a story in history, and is a situation
that I don’t think would be pleasant for me! I have a hard enough time being all I need to be for one wife, and
can’t imagine trying to keep peace in such a situation! And People think the Bible is boring LOL!
To finish up this chapter, we see Jacob’s work start to become quite busy and all-consuming for a season of life,
as many have had happen throughout history. The tough part is trying to get things back into balance after
living this lifestyle for a few years. I sure got stuck in that rut for many years. I am thankful for this time in life
when work is more in perspective! Click the link and read about how Jacob fell into having four wives at this point!
He really gets a head start on all those generations of descendants his father was promised by God!
Talk with you soon!
