Genesis 29 and Marrying the Wrong Girl?

Things are really shaping up on The Little Hundred Acre Wood this year; it would seem God has great plans for us in this season. My little new-to-me antique truck is running well now, and I am working on some aesthetics to make it more comfortable and less humiliating too LOL! The new dash should go in on Saturday, and the seats arrive next week. All this has been done through trade/bartering deals, as money is not plentiful so far this year. Some of these deals involved some bait and switch from the young seller's dad and grandfather, but in the end, God had a plan for me! Most of these deals have been otherworldly in their circumstances. By that, I mean in no way could I have made such wild situations occur! Yep, God did these things, and I feel very blessed and grateful for all of it!  It is way too long a story for here! If bartering and old truck deals are of interest to you, watch soon for an update on my FB home page for more details about the saga of Eeyore Two!

Speaking of very unique trading and bartering, we are in Genesis 29 as we read/listen as Jacob finds true love in Rachel and also finds her sister…his new wife…oh no more trickery and deception! Just how does one not know they are marrying the older sister Leah instead of the one you just worked in servitude for seven years to earn the right to marry? Well, it was evening, so it was dark, and then there is the veil and other elaborate wedding clothing, so I guess in that cultural setting and time, no light switches… it is possible even with complete sobriety. But even in this deception, Jacob continued in servitude to his uncle Laban for another seven years to earn his true love Rachel as a second wife. Poor Leah sure had it rough here, and Jacob seemed to like something about her, as she has four children in the next paragraph! I think I would have become quite bitter toward Laban if I were Jacob, Rachel, or Leah!

Tomorrow, we will skip back to the New Testament for the rest of Holy Week as we dig into what Maundy Thursday is all about.

   Talk with you soon!
