Genesis 24 A Bride for Isaac

Good morning, I hope this letter finds you well. It will be a busy day around The Little Hundred Acre Wood today. My darling bride and I will be traveling to Boyd, Texas, to pick up a parts truck I did some horse trading for. I am not trying to make my little Eeyore two a show truck, but I would like it to be safe and at least not draw negative attention as it does now! God is using this time to further humble me as we prepare for whatever He has next for us. He seems to be hard at work on something, but it is not clear to us yet just what He is preparing us for. But learning to wait is a very important life lesson, so as I wait, pray, and submit, I will finish the little truck restoration with the great parts truck we will move here today. It has a well-rebuilt engine and a great interior to transfer over. If it were a 4x4, I would make it my truck, but it is a rear wheel drive. Well enough about my wild-eyed, crazy adventures, let's get to today’s challenge!

Today we are in Genesis 24 for Today’s Daily Bible Challenge, Isaac meets Rebekah, his bride arranged for by his father Abraham, well, really God arranged all this, but Abraham acted on God’s leading. There is a delicate balance in life as we wait on God, but also do not sit on our duff waiting, all the while ignoring His leadings and not acting on them. Hey, in a way, that is where Madeline and I are these days as we await God’s leading as I finish up Seminary classes this month. Right now, there has been no leading to stop The Daily Bible Challenge, so it will go on until God tells me to stop or I pass away. In fact, the only leading in that area has been to expand the audience so it is now being posted on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram.

What if Rebekah just continued to wait instead of starting her new adventure with Isaac? She must have been so nervous and excited as she went off to this new land to meet her husband! And because she was willing to take action, a nation would flourish, and generations of people would know God’s promises are real because she stopped waiting and started taking action on God’s plan for her life!  What will you do when your nudge from God comes along?

   Talk with you soon!
