Revelation 8 and my new beater truck Eeyore the 2nd
Good Wednesday morning to all of you, way back in the day we called this hump-day as the rest of the week is downhill from here. But my week is just getting rolling now, so much to do before Saturday, as I am hosting a breakfast party for a men's group that is commencing from Re/Generation this month! I am a mentor to one of the guys in this group and have so much to celebrate in what God has done and is doing in this man’s life! I also have a doctor’s appointment today, and the title work to do on my new-to-me beater truck. At the whopping price of two thousand dollars, it will be hard to go wrong on this beauty! It is a true antique vehicle at 42 years old. Sadly, I am pretty sure I have given up on Eeyore, my 32-year-old jeep, she was new enough to have a computer and all those sensors. You can really get lost chasing problems in all those electrical issues at that age, with a finicky computer and junk sensors and wiring! But the new Eeyore has none of that, just a carburetor and no computer, you can get this thing back running with bailing wire and bubblegum! Well, that and maybe a foil chewing gum wrapper if a fuse blows! I had this same make and model truck back in college, less the four-wheel drive, and Madeline and I loved it, mostly for its extremely good gas mileage! On the trip back from purchasing her in Weatherford to The Little Hundred Acre Wood she used less than two and a half gallons of gas! I am not sure what it is with old men and old trucks, but I just get a bit giddy behind the wheel of this old rattling rusty beast! I will be sorting a few things on her soon as the few ordered parts start trickling in this week.
Well, I sure got off on a rabbit trail there, let’s get to The Daily Bible Challenge, after all that is why we are all here! We are in chapter 8 of Revelation. There is a lot of doom in this chapter but I am reveling in verse one as the “Lamb” broke the seventh and final seal. This marks the beginning of the apocalyptic destruction. We can get so misguided about all the facets of God’s personality, He is far too complicated for me to fully understand, but I still try! Please don’t get hung up on all this violence and destruction, focus on the good. He did give us a pathway out of this if we will just take that path! If you have questions about that pathway, please send us a private direct message and we will get back with you shortly!
Talk with you soon!
