Revelation 17 Who is the harlot in this chapter?

Good Thursday morning folks, I hope your week has been productive. In some ways mine has, but in others not so much. Such is this life I guess, it is a balancing act to live in this world, but not live as if I am of this world. If you are new to all this; no, I am not from another planet, but God tells us in His word that our home is heaven, not this world. So sometimes life throws us some tough pitches, and other times it is like freewheeling down a gentle hill on a bicycle. Breeze in our hair and joy in our hearts, treasure those moments when you find yourself in them!

Off and on, I have been working on an old truck, getting it mechanically sound, the last two weeks. Yesterday was new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor and wires. This went well and delivered considerable horsepower for my efforts. Today I will be diagnosing the no turn signals and maybe even start the air conditioning diagnosis. This is North Central Texas with temps staying well above triple digits for up to ninety days straight for what most would call hell but we just call summer! If the AC doesn’t work, for most the rule is park it! Now to be fair, we do have spring or at least a false spring and it is in the eighties and that is a great time for these kinds of projects, yes I know that is summer for a lot of the northern USA!

Well, I digress, we are here for The Daily Bible Challenge not shade-tree mechanics 101, let’s get started! We are in Revelation 17, and most just want to answer the question, “Who is the harlot in this chapter? Now I am not very interested in who she is but more how to stay clear of such times and experiences! But she may just be important if you dig a little deeper with tools such as commentaries and studies from gotquestions.org. But even reading that whole article, I find she is irrelevant to me! I just hope I get to ride this one out six foot under someplace until this whole time is over. But I don’t find much scriptural support for my desires to be fulfilled! So I also try to build my strength in faith in God to be prepared for these times as a bondservant of Christ our Messiah. As always I welcome your comments and questions via PM/DM.
