Genesis 7: The Flood and Madeline's Commencement

What an amazing red sunrise we have this morning, I sometimes feel guilty for getting to see God’s creation so easily every morning now that we live here on The Little Hundred Acre Wood! Today’s sunrise kind of marks a new chapter in our lives, you see, last night was a special night for us as a couple, Madeline had her commencement ceremony for Re/Generation, and gave her testimony with her classmates. This program is something God uses to free people from the bondage and baggage in their lives. This baggage sometimes holds people back from a more full and intimate relationship with God and others. Hurts against us or hurts we have done to others sometimes cause great emotional scarring, and this eleven-month course helps people gain the tools needed to rise up and overcome those struggles of the past. This program was originally created at WaterMark Church (here is a link: https://www.regenerationrecovery.org/about), but has now spread to churches around the country. Yes, it is a twelve-step program, but it is not like all the others; it is not just for addiction, but it is focused on freedom and a relationship with Jesus. It also digs into those scars from the past to find the root cause of current struggles. I am so proud of the work Madeline did in her time in this program, and I am also thankful for all the work God did in her over this grueling course! She sees so clearly now how she is a daughter of Christ and that He has great plans for her in leadership in Re/Gen and other areas of ministry! I also want to give special thanks to her mentor, Tricia Hollums Bullard, yes, the author! Her input has been transformative to Madeline’s journey; she really invested in Madeline!  Now, what does this have to do with The Daily Bible Challenge? Probably not much, except it means Madeline and I are now more of a ministry team than we have ever been before. I know she can be depended on as a partner as we counsel men and women who contact us through the Daily Bible Challenge questions and comments.

Today we are in Genesis 7 as the great flood begins, it must have been tough to be in that wooden ship for so long with all those animals, there was a lot of work to keep them all busy, though, so maybe it was not all that bad. I know I would have had a heavy heart for all those perishing outside. This God of destruction sometimes makes me stumble in understanding the contrast between the Love and Destruction. I usually just remember the promises from God to help me deal with my lack of understanding. I guard my heart against satan trying to use my ego to deceive me in these areas. I am not in charge, and God doesn’t need my approval of His plans or behaviors! His justice is pure and complete, and eventually, we will have more understanding as we move from this physical world to the spiritual one.
