Genesis 4 THE FIRST MURDER!

It is so easy for me to get confused by chapter four of Genesis, Oh did I say that out loud…LOL! Yes men and women of God that spend their whole lives studying and worshipping still get confused by a book conceived and inspired by the creator of the universe! If someone tells you they know and understand everything about God that is their ego talking and they should probably be ignored! I often get confused when I study the reaction and interaction of man, less so when studying God! God’s nature is pure, man’s is muddy and selfish so knowing this, why do I get confused? If we understand that God was willing to die (and did) for man to be saved we can understand His Holiness ( as well as a mortal can) and that He is not like us in so many ways (yes even though we were made in His image).

So, just how does one decide out of jealousy to kill his own brother and then lie about it to the all-knowing and all-seeing God? This is the part where I get so confused, when trying to understand men and women of the Bible how can they get so led astray so easily? If you have had a personal experience with God it is so earth-shatteringly different, how can you not stay vigilant for His return for more interaction? Is it a childish reaction to get attention from Him? Like a child willing to get in trouble just to have a mom or dad interact with them. Interaction at any cost? Yeah, I am so glad my studies are more on God than trying to understand people in general! Our instructions from Jesus were to love His people, not to fully understand them just love them unconditionally (thank goodness!).

Click the link below and listen for yourself to God’s word, the Holy Bible, that’s what we do here every morning one chapter at a time (sometimes two if short). This meeting place is called The Daily Bible Challenge! We do this to stop listening to gossip about God and start listening to God about God! I try not to be a teacher here but simply someone encouraging you to be one of the statistically few who have actually read the whole Bible cover to cover! Just hearing a verse out of context is not really what we are to do, God’s plans are so much bigger than that, but if you read it all for yourself you will begin to understand how just hearing a verse or two in a Sunday sermon is not enough to even scratch the surface of what God wants you to know! Questions and comments are always welcome via PM/DM!

   Talk with you soon!
